| Bio: | What can I say? I finally decided to make something of my LiveJournal. I'll mainly be using this site to post my thoughts/revelations/criticism/random-shit-that-comes-to-mind on topics ranging from nothing to everything, with a few recurring stops in between. So what can I tell you about myself? A lot. What WILL I tell you about myself? Not much. Generic backstory: I was born on a little speck of land in the Caribbean, known on official documents as Aruba. Nice island, bad weather. No, not bad as in rain and thunder storms; bad as in high temperatures 360 days a year, heavy rain 4 days a year and the weather takes a break once a year. Tourists flock to Aruba all throughout the year for the dry, sunny weather, white beaches and clear blue water, and to get their hair braided, "just like the locals". Fact: hair-braiding isn't a norm on Aruba, okay? Good. So yeah, nice island. Pretty dull, too. At least, it is when you've lived there for 17 years. I mean, after a while the pretty white sand and sunny weather can bring on blindness and skin cancer. I jest, but we (my family and I, that is) needed a change. So we sold the house, packed up what was left and moved to the Netherlands, where the beaches are brown, the sea water is browner, and where it can be pretty wet and windy for the most part of the year, which is no fun since 95.23% of the Dutch population own a bicycle. And only around 15.4% of them seem to be aware that, even though cyclists have the right of way on most roads, in the likely event of a collision with a car or a bus, they'd be deader than Tara Reid's career. But I digress (I do that a lot so get used to it)Back to me. It's ALL about me!.....Well, on this page anyway. What else about me...hmm... My dad's a purebred Dutchman. My mom's a native Jamaican. The way I see it, I got the best of both worlds there. I got my dark features (eyes and hair) from my mom, my height (6'0", or 183 cm) from my dad, and my hips from both my grandmothers. But despite weighing in at 121 kg (and no, I'm not ashamed to admit it because I'm proud of my hourglass figure), I'm a pretty healthy gall. No health problems whatsoever and I work out 3 times a week and I'm doing well with my diet. So yeah, I've got no complaints about myself. Though my dad taught me to drive years ago, I still don't have a driver's license. I just can't be assed to go through the whole exam. Public transportation works good enough for me, thank you. The future? I want to become a professional author and publish a lot of books. Oh, and I'm TERRIFIED of centipedes. *shudders* Just watching a video, or even looking at a picture of one, gives me serious goosebumps. NOTHING should have that many legs! It's unnatural! | |||||
